If you are not familiar with table-stakes five-card stud, you have a lot of company, for it is rarely played. Who can afford it? Let's review it briefly. In some respects five-card-stud table stakes is a simpler game than high-low seven-card stud at 25 cents, 50 cents and a dollar. I think it can be demonstrated that it's simpler insofar as card skill is concerned. The bluff, rather than card skill, is the key in table stakes. Consider this point. Accordingly, in playing this game you should bear in mind that when you put four or six chips in the pot to start with, it is about ten to one that someone will raise, about five to one that someone will raise back, and better than even money that you will have to pay at least twelve chips to get the variations and privilege of drawing. Five Cards Game

Five-card draw, is one of the oldest poker, and it is unique in that players have the opportunity to exchange their cards or draw” from the deck to try and improve their hands. So, if you don’t like what you see, you can always try your luck with some new cards. Unlike stud games, players only see the cards in their own hands. (But smart players will pay close attention to how many cards other players draw after the first round of betting, as well as their opponents’ betting patterns.) Poker Variations

Low-limit games are usually games in which people stay to see most of the cards. High/Low Split is certainly no exception. In fact, High/Low generally has more people competing for the pot because they hope to get at least half the pot. If that is true for your particular games, make them "pay to play" whenever you have a good hand. If you have a chance to sweep the whole pot, be very aggressive. After the fifth street card, it would be apparent that Ted had a clear advantage. The ace-six was now an ace-six-jack.
